ELOSTA TODAY
As year around residents of the area many of our local members are generally only a few minutes away from their boats. We have the privilege of taking advantage of the best summer weather the Big - "O" offers. However, the pretty sunsets do eventually dim a bit, and after all our fishing buddies have left for the season, we get to enjoy?? "Lake Effect" snow ..... in feet, not inches.So, it is with a great deal of enthusiasm that we await the upswing of a warm trolling sun that lures familiar faces and long time friends back to their shrink wrapped boats, waiting cottages, and campers. Where do you all hail from ..... the majority of our members are located throughout New York State. Others call PA, MA, NJ, VT, CT, NH, ME, and FL their home. The advent of each new season signals the start of ELOSTA's monthly meetings which are held at a location to be annualy announced on the third Wednesday of the month from March through October. These meetings provide the opportunity for all anglers to hear current NYDEC and other agency reports regarding law enforcement activities, regulatory programs, resource management proposals, hatchery issues, and invasive species concerns. Each meeting features a presentation given by one of our charter skippers or knowledgeable members who are more than willing to share their angling skills, what's hot - what's not, and other personal preferences.ELOSTA's annual fund raising picnic takes place each August. Members and the public alike are encouraged to attend and, if they are of a mind, participate in in a one day family fun fishing derby. This is a great opportunity for piscatorial prevaricators to mix with old and new friends, laugh some, eat a lot, and elaborate in great detail about record tackle busters that got away.Fill out a membership application and send it in today.
